Across big cities in Nigeria, they cruise around in flashy cars and own good businesses but in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), many Nigerian ladies engage in prostitution to keep their businesses afloat.

Flashy cars. Blinking bank accounts. Good businesses. They have it all. The good things of all fall on their laps. Like the queens that many see them to be outside, they live large.

Welcome to the world of the Nigerian ‘big babes’ who call the shots as far as prostitution is concerned in Dubai, that artificial creation in the United Arab Emirates which has caught the world’s attention.

Dubai covers an area of 1500 square miles and sits 52 feet above sea level. It is the gateway to Asia and is described as the Las Vegas of the Middle East. On the streets of Dubai, these ladies are the centre of attraction and back home, especially in cities such as Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt, they own big businesses and drive flashy cars, yet from time to time, they acquire two months visa to Dubai for no reason other than to indulge in commercial s*x. With the help of syndicates, they secure accommodation in hotels and apartments.

It came as a shock to this reporter, whose first time it was in Dubai. Having booked her accommodation online at the Africana Hotel, Deira, she was hopeful to have some quiet time and arriving the Dubai International Airport and seeing the Arabs all covered, with warning prohibiting indecency, she thought: “At least, there is some decency here!”

But she was soon to realize that beneath the cleanliness and splendour of the city lies a dirty trade, which even Sheiks are said to patronise when no one is watching. The moment this reporter stepped into the hotel she had reserved online, she saw an army of half-unclad women, parading the premises.

Shocked by the contrast, she had quickly asked: “What’s going on here?” The reply from the smiling front desk person was: “They are from your country, Nigeria. They are our guests. See these ladies, they pair themselves in a room, some even stay three in a room. So, in case you want to save money, you can pair with any of them!”

But her response did not quench the reporter’s curiosity. It did not answer why half-unclad Nigerian women, as early as 9am, were flaunting their bodies in front of the hotel with some black guys giving them signals.

At that moment, she made up her mind she was not going to stay in that hotel but would definitely visit the place at night for a better understanding of the mystery.
Having successfully checked into another hotel, with the help of an agent whose number she got from her friend who frequents Dubai, the reporter revisited the Africana Hotel.
The time was 11pm and the environment well lit, with a beehive of skimpily-dressed trooping in and out of the hotel. Observing quietly, the reporter overheard some of the ladies, seated at the reception complaining how the business has gone sour.
One of the ladies said: “Things are not as easy as they used to be when I started this business. There were some weeks I made about $5,000 from these Arab and European men.
“But since more babes from Nigeria got into it, there are so many ‘runs girls’ in Dubai that for the past one month, I have not made up to $5,000.
“Worst still, some of my clients have suddenly changed and started demanding an*l s*x. I had a terrible experience recently with a European whom I met inside an elevator at a big hotel.
“We exchanged contacts after he paid $300 for a ‘blow job’ in the elevator. Then, subsequently, we met and had pizza and he offered $1,000 for s*x in his apartment.
“I thought he was a decent guy until I got to his apartment. He threatened me with a knife to accept s*x with me through the anus or he will kill me.
“I begged him to collect his money and let me go but the oyibo man refused and had his way. Imagine what I have denied most of my contacts, who would have even paid more for it, that stupid European got it by force and still he collected his money back.
“I am just tired of this business. Though I own a big boutique in Festac, it is through these ‘runs’ that I foot my bills because there is little profit in the boutique business.”
Another one, whom they called Jane while sympathising with her friend, told the girls that Alhaja [her pimp] had earlier warned her not to carry money to her customer’s place.
“Alhaja warned me that these days, the men will sleep with you and still collect your money. So, since then, I usually drop any advance payment with her.
“I do not want a situation whereby one stupid man will collect the money I have laboured for. Any valuable thing I have, I usually drop them with Alhaja and she gives me back once I demand for them.
“So, my dear, learn from this experience and most times, it is better you tell the men ahead of time what you can do and what you cannot do,” said Jane.
Jane, who claimed she resigned from her place of work in Lagos where she served as a marketer, attributed her resignation to meagre salary.
“I graduated from the university two years ago and got a job where I was paid N20, 000 per month. The hardship and frustration in Nigeria pushed me into prostitution and I have no regrets because I now have a better life. I own my own apartment, a car and a big saloon in Lagos,” she said.
Baffled by the revelations of the ladies, the reporter asked a travel agent how the women were able to practise open prostitution in a Muslim country.
Hear him: “Is there anything Nigerians cannot do? Most of these girls I know them in Nigeria. Some are rich and own big businesses, while some are students.
“They apply and acquire two months’ visa and with the help of travel agents and some big women, they get accommodation in hotels and even apartment. Then, those women who also have guys working for them usually link them up with men.
“Most of them register and submit their international passports to the women or their contact persons and every night; this is how they keep going about.
“It is very embarrassing that Nigerian ladies, including married women, come here for prostitution. That is how one of them saw me in Festac last year and she was hiding because she knows I know what she does in Dubai.
“Once a woman calls me that she wants two months’ visa, I just know that is what she is coming for and I turn them down. Some will say there is no job in Nigeria and they want to come and hustle.
“What is paining me now is that this nonsense that they do has made it difficult for us to secure genuine visas for decent people. Also, most hotels have increased their rates, with some even refusing to give their rooms to single women coming to stay that long.
“If you go around this neighbourhood [Deira], you will see that these stupid girls even rent apartments, which they keep and pay for even while they are in Nigeria, yet they claim it is unemployment and poverty that led them into prostitution.
“It is a serious issue and I think the Federal Government needs to act on it urgently, if not, these girls will spread diseases in Nigeria, aside the bad image they are painting of the country already,” said the travel agent.
Continuing, the agent narrated how one of the prostitutes approached a client of his who lodged in the hotel sometime in June.
“The girl just knocked on the door and when my client opened, she called her outside and was telling her to stop acting like a child. I just stood by the door and I was hearing their conversation. She told my client that most of the men who have seen her want her to play by the game.
“But my client refused and told the lady that she was in Dubai for business and not prostitution and the girl, while insisting, said most of them own businesses in Nigeria and that they prostitute to cover their expenses.
“She even said that my client can make the money she will use to buy her goods in one night, thereby she would not spend the money she came with or buying more things.
“I was so angry that I had to come out and warn the girl to mind her business and allow my client who has told her she was not interested in prostitution.
“That was why I came immediately you told me she gave you my number and that you want a decent place to stay,” he said.
Yet in this city, there are strict religious laws against prostitution. A western women once got a month imprisonment for a peck on the cheek. The law in Dubai has clear rules that prostitution is illegal. If you are caught by the police, both you and the prostitute will be put into jail and wait for the sentence of the local court.
If you are not a national, apart from the punishment of being sentenced by the court, you will be asked to leave the UAE and will not be allowed back in again.
There are different categories of prostitutes in Dubai. There are the willing ones and the forced ones who are threatened into it by pimps. The bulk of the Nigerian ladies in the trade are the willing ones and if they are caught, unfortunately, they will go for it. Continue Reading

SSS Declares Nasir El-Rufai Wanted!

The State Security Service, SSS, has finally secured a warrant of arrest for the Deputy National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Nasir El-Rufai, and has now launched a manhunt for him, the spokesperson for the agency has said.
 
This is even as armed operatives of the Service again stormed a second house in Abuja believed to belong to the former minister in their desperate bid to arrest him.

They had earlier in the afternoon invaded his first house in the Maitama District of the nation’s capital, but could not find him as he had reportedly gone to pick his children from school. They were said to have tried to force their way in to arrest the former minister. Continue...



In the latest siege on another property, also in the Maitama District, the operatives were said to have beaten up some private guards for refusing them entry.

The spokesperson of the SSS, Marylyn Ogar, confirmed that the operatives visited Mr. El-Rufai’s second house to arrest him, but denied that anyone was beaten.

“I hate cheap blackmail,” Ms. Ogar told Premium Times on telephone. “We went to the first place, nobody was beaten up. How will we go to the second place and beat people up?”

She explained that the SSS got an arrest warrant demanded by Mr. El-Rufai, but could not find him to personally serve him the document.
“We extended a friendly invitation to him,” the SSS spokesperson said. “He was invited honourably to come and make some explanations about the comments attributed to him.
“He said he wanted an arrest warrant. We have now obtained that from a competent court and we are wondering why he is running.
“We want to serve it on him. Or is there any Nigerian that is above the law?
“The president has said his ambition is not worth any Nigerian’s blood. So why will anyone else be making provocative statements?”

The manhunt for the former minister followed his refusal to honour an invitation from the SSS on Thursday.

He cited his pending suit against the Service over his detention in a hotel in Awka during the Anambra State Governorship last November 16 as the reason for refusing to honour the invitation.
Mr. El-Rufai also insisted on seeing a warrant of arrest before he could go to the SSS office.
The invitation of the APC chief was in connection with his remarks at a conference in Abuja on Wednesday that there might be violence if the 2015 general elections were not credible.

Meanwhile, Mr. El-Rufai, in statement by his media advisor, Muyiwa Adekeye, on Friday, confirmed that armed SSS officials stormed his home in Abuja following his rejection of the attempt by the organization to compel him to report at their office without a valid warrant.

The statement said the former minister had on Thursday firmly told the Director General of SSS that he would be exercising his right not to go to the SSS offices except a warrant mandates him and offered to meet the SSS officials in his home or office.

“The armed invasion of his house is a clear indication that the SSS imagines itself as an agency immune from respecting fundamental rights, behaviour akin to a gathering of toughs before whom every citizen must quake,” the statement said.

“The SSS agents did not produce any warrant to back their invasion of his premises.
“The assault on El-Rufai’s house continues a sorry tradition of serial violation of his rights by the SSS which has arrested him at airports and hotels.

“The most recent was the action of the SSS in violating his right to freedom of movement in Awka during the Anambra elections. Without any just cause or formal charge, the Directorate of State Security Services (SSS) had unlawfully detained El Rufai, the Deputy National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the premises of Finotel Hotel, Akwa, Anambra State, from the 15th day of November, 2013 to the 16th day of November, 2013.”

The statement said during the period, Mr. El-Rufai was not only restricted to the hotel, he was denied access to his congregational prayer as a devout Muslim, and kept incommunicado without access to anyone and or the press.

It stated that in order to remedy the flagrant violation of his fundamental rights as enshrined in sections 35, 39, 40 and 41 of the Constitution, the former minister sued the SSS, seeking eight reliefs, including an injunction to restrain the SSS from further infringing on his fundamental rights. A P0*nographic actor managed to film a seedy movie at a university campus in broad daylight.
The self-shot film, was given the imaginative title ‘Johnny Rockard at University of West of England in Bristol.
The video has been viewed more than 41,000 times on an adult website.
Police are now investigating exactly how Johnny managed to film his s*x sessions on campus with the so-called “student” – both of whom have no connection to the university.
The film shows the actor wandering among students at the University of the West England (UWE) before chatting up pretty student Xzena, 22.

She then performs s*xual acts on him at the campus gates and the romp continues on a bus heading into Bristol city centre.

University vice-chancellor Steve West said: “I am appalled that the university should be subject to such behaviour from someone with no connection to the university, resulting in a false and misleading representation of the university.
We have worked with the Students’ Union, staff, our on-campus security, have involved the police to investigate and have taken legal action.”
The film was was shot during the summer holidays but students can be seen milling around the campus in Filton, north Bristol.

Johnny films himself wandering around until he strikes up a conversation with Xzena, who says she is a third-year psychology student.
After engaging in s*x acts at the campus and on the bus, other scenes were shot at the steps to a flyover in Bristol city centre and later at a property.

Johnny – who claims his company is “probably the most globally publicised and promoted UK name in adult entertainments” – insisted no laws were broken, insisting the university is a “public space”.
A spokesman for the Bristol-based company said: “It is a public space. If I was in their buildings they could take issue but it is public land, so I have not breached any law.”

On her blog, Xzena, from Cardiff, said the video was her “very first experience of P0*n” and she made hundreds of pounds from the filthy shoot.

She wrote: “This whole experience was exhilarating, and edgy to say the least, and I absolutely LOVED every minute of it!!!”

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset police said they were aware of the incident and were investigating whether any offences had been committed – potentially outraging public decency.
He said: “The incident was reported to us on Monday, January 20. We are investigating an allegation that somebody has gone onto the campus grounds and made an adult film with a suspected female actress in a public space.

We are currently looking into this incident and whether any offences have been committed.”

Seedorf Appointed New Milan Coach

Former AC Milan midfielder, Clarence Seedorf has announced his retirement from his playing career to take up the vacant coaching job at San Siro.

The Dutch great made over 400 appearances in his 10 years at Milan, during which he won two Serie A and two Champions League titles.

The managerial seat at Milan became vacant as the club parted ways with Massimiliano Allegri on Monday, following Milan’s shock 4-3 defeat to Sassuolo on Sunday.

The former Holland star had been playing in Brazil for Botafogo after leaving Italy, but is new boss at the San Siro and is charged with improving the club’s fortunes.

“I’m here to announce that I’m quitting professional football. After 22 years, it was the right move. It was a very difficult night, but I’m very proud of what I’ve done in my career.

“I’m very satisfied with what I’ve done with Botafogo. Helping the team to get back to Libertadores Cup was very important as it was winning the state championship, but this was just too good an opportunity to turn down.”

“I leave an improved club, especially in terms of their mentality and team spirit.

“Milan? We will meet again. This experience of the last year and a half has made me grow up a lot and will help me in my next step, as coach of Milan, who have hired me in both an elegant and correct manner.

“I like challenges and coaching Milan will be another challenge in my career,” Seedorf said in a press conference at the stadium.

Allegri won the Serie A title in his first season at the San Siro back in 2011 but the Italian giants have been on the slide ever since, and are 11th in the table, 30 points adrift of table-toppers Juventus.

Pope Francis Names 19 New Cardinals

Pope Francis on Sunday named 19 new cardinals, 16 of whom will hold voting rights in the conclave that elects the pontiff.
The 16 new cardinals under the age of 80 — who can vote in the conclave — include four Italians, two from other European countries, five from South America, one North American, two Africans and two Asians.
With the geographical division of his first batch of cardinals, the pope appeared to place a greater emphasis on what he terms the “periphery” of the Roman Catholic Church at the expense of the centre.
The cardinals will be officially appointed on February 22, bringing the conclave up to 122 members.
The pope also baptised in the Sixtine Chapel 32 children including one from a single mother. [AFP]

Ronaldo claimed the award with a total of 1,365 points, ahead of Messi (1,205) and Ribery (1,127), with the votes cast by 184 coaches, 184 national captains and 173 members of the global media.
Messi, 26, had won the award for the last four years, however Ronaldo had been viewed as the frontrunner this time after scoring 66 goals in 56
games in 2013 for club and country.
They included a sensational hat-trick for Portugal against Sweden in their World Cup qualifying play-off second leg, which sealed a place in the finals in Brazil.
“First of all, I have to say a great thanks to all of my team-mates with the club and the national team,” Ronaldo said as he cried during his
speech. “Without all of their efforts this would not have been possible. I am very happy, it is very difficult to win this award.
“Everybody that has been involved with me on a personal level, I have to thank. My wife, my friends, my son. It is a tremendously emotional moment. All I can say is thank you to everybody
that has been involved.”

was named player of the match.
German national manager Silvia Neid won the women’s coach award, while Heynckes, who retired at the end of the last season after guiding Bayern Munich to a historic treble , said: “Maybe 10 years ago, I wouldn’t even have dreamt of this. I am humbled and happy to be standing here.”
The Ballon d’Or Prix d’Honneur was awarded to Brazil legend and three-time World Cup winner Pele . “I promised to my family that I would not
cry but I am emotional,” he said.

Man City’s Nasri Ruled Out for Two Months

Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri will be sidelined for eight weeks due to a medial knee ligament injury he sustained in Sunday’s win at Newcastle.

Manager, Manuel Pellegrini, was curious of the Frenchman’s condition following a challenge by Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa at St. James’ Park.
He had said the player will undergo a test on Monday to determine the extent of what he termed a serious injury.

AC Milan Sacks Coach, Allegri.

AC Milan have sacked coach Massimiliano Allegri following a disappointing Serie A campaign.

The 46-year-old got the boot a day after a below par performance in their 4-3 league defeat by minnows Sassuolo.
The Italian giants are 11th in the standings, having won just five of their 19 games in the ongoing season.
Allegri was due to leave the side on conclusion of his tenure at the San Siro, but will have to pack his bags earlier than expected alongside his backroom staff.
Assistant coach Mauro Tassotti has been ordered to take charge of the first-team on temporary basis.

With her astonishing 47in pins, the British model is helping the nation inch ahead in the battle of the long-limbed beauties.

Miss Robertson, 20, decided to find out how she measured up after Russian trainee lawyer Anastasia Strashevskaya scooped her nation’s Miss Longest Legs, with a seemingly unbeatable 42in.

And she was amazed to find  out that hers were a full five inches longer.

Miss Robertson, who stands a statuesque 6ft 1in and is juggling a musical theatre degree with work as a model, said: ‘It is crazy – I had no idea my legs were quite that long.’

Miss Robertson, from Blackpool height doesn’t intimidate her boyfriend of two years, Laurson Moston, 21.

 

At 6ft, he is only an inch shorter than her. ‘He doesn’t mind  my height at all,’ she said.  ‘He did ban me from wearing really high heels when I’m with him, though, because I tower over him then.’

Being tall is something of a family trait. as Miss Robertson’s 33-year-old sister is the same height as her.

It’s a new year and plans are already set in place for this year’s edition of the infamous African reality TV show – Big Brother Africa.

This year would be the 9th season of Big Brother.

The organizers of the reality show have announced via the show’s Facebook page that this year’s edition has been dubbed “All Stars 2?, is scheduled to start on August 10th, 2014 and will feature 28 participants from 14 different countries.

The countries include Angola, Botswana, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia & Zimbabwe.

The Facebook post reads:

“Rumors have it that 28 housemates from 14 participating countries would participate in this seasons edition of BBA9 tagged all stars 2.. Two housemates from each country. The participating countries are Angola, Botswana, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, sierraleone, Tanzania, Southafrica, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. Police this afternoon shoots residents in Rumuola, Port Harcourt Rivers State mercilessly with all sorts of weapon killing two persons leaving many injured and properties destroyed. Obasanjo sends letter to PDP withdrawing from party activities

All these drama with our politicians, leaders and political parties is becoming quite silly. They all just seem so confused. One of the founding members of the ruling party and former Nigerian president, Olusegun Obasanjo has sent a letter to the National Chairman of PDP, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, where he gave a notice of his withdrawal from activities of the party.

In the letter, Obasanjo said although he is still a card carrying member of the party, he will withdraw his activities with PDP at local, state, zonal and national level until a person he describes as a criminal wanted abroad to face criminal charges is removed as the party's South West zonal leader.

Obasanjo proceeded to add that he was forwarding with the letter, “recent documents” on the alleged activities of the person. The letter, dated January 7th, was obtained by Tribune. See More

Dead Man Suddenly WAKES UP in Mortuary Leaving Staff in Shock

Hospital staff have been left in shock after a dead Kenyan man woke up in the mortuary.
Suicide victim Paul Mutora, 24, had been confirmed dead for between 15 to 20 hours before Naivasha District Hospital workers made the chilling discovery.
KTN Kenya said that several mortuary attendants ‘took to their heels’ when Mr Mutora woke up inside one of the mortuary chambers where he was due to be embalmed and started calling for help.
Mr Mutora, from Limuru, had been rushed to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead after drinking insecticide following an argument with his father.
Hospital superintendent Dr Joseph Mburu said that the anti-poison drugs given to Mr Mutora upon arriving in the hospital may have been responsible for giving the false impression of death.
He said: “The effect of atropanes can sometimes cause slowing of heart rate and dilution of the pupils.
“These two observations are used to make the conclusion that someone has lost their life.”
Mr Mutora is now recovering from his ordeal in a ward after being transported back by staff.
According to All Africa, Mr Mutora said: “This was a mistake from the start.
“I apologise to my father as I prepare to go and take care of my wife and child.”
Although doctors say that Mr Mutora is now out of danger family members blame the hospital for being careless.
An investigation as to how a patient was pronounced dead when he was still alive has since been launched by the hospital. SEE MORE

21-year-old Man Burns Himself To Death In Taraba

A 21-year-old man, Mansur Tanko, on Friday, burnt himself to death in Jalingo, after a disagreement with his father, Tanko Mijinyawa, over marriage.
The Taraba Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Joseph Kwaji, confirmed the incident and said the Jalingo Division of the police had commenced investigation into the matter.
Tanko, according to an eyewitness, Alhaji Jibrin Bala, set himself ablaze because his family refused to approve his wedding with a girl, Blessing.
The eyewitness told sympathisers that Tanko introduced Blessing to his father as his proposed wife, but the father kicked against the union, describing it as a bad choice.
Bala said efforts by the father to convince his son to look for another girl failed, as he insisted that he could not survive without Blessing.
The eyewitness added that Tanko suddenly left his father and went to a corner in the compound, where he poured petrol on his body and set himself ablaze.
“When we suddenly saw fire, everybody ran toward the corner of the compound, only to see Tanko burning.
“The father and other people in the compound tried to rescue Tanko from the fire, but failed as the flame was much and we could not move near,” he said.
Meanwhile, he said, Tanko’s father is currently receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo, for injuries sustained while trying to rescue the son from the fire. SEE MORE...
