Chris Brown has been arrested and charged with felony assault by Washington Police after he and a man thought to be his bodyguard, Chris Hollosy beat another man.
Brown and Hollosy were being held in police custody until Monday, DC police spokesman Paul Metcalf said.
Officer Andrew Clay of the Metropolitan police department said he could not confirm Hollosy’s relationship with Brown.
The altercation occurred outside the W Hotel, which is located on K and 15th street, near the White House, at around 4:25am. Washington police did not immediately release details of the other man involved, other than to say “he’s alive”. It was later confirmed that he had been released from hospital.
Brown, 24, is currently on probation in California, for a domestic violence conviction involving his former girlfriend, Barbadian singer Rihanna.
He was first arrested in 2009. Violation of that probation could result in time in jail.
In August, he was ordered to complete 1,000 hours of community service, over probation violation
